A Voice for the Voiceless I wanted to share with you the reasons for writing in the context that I have. I never wanted to write a step by step account of the act of abuse. I applaud others who have as this is a very courageous thing to do. And the more people who speak out the more this awful act will come to light. I wanted to express the pure emotion that is attached to the act of sexual abuse. Any kind of abuse will bring up most of these feelings that I have written about. I could have written about the act and changed my name. I didn't ever want to do that, I wanted everyone to see a person who is here and now. I wanted to show everyone the damage and destruction involved in abuse. I want to show my painful journey in its raw form. It is my eyes on the front cover of my book. I am the little girl on the front cover. This was about the age that my abuse started. And it is my picture on the back cover. It makes it so much more personal and has a bigger impact when you can identify a face to the pain. I have no shame and I will always put my name and face to any aspect of this subject.
